Pets For The Elderly

The Pets for the Elderly Foundation (PFE) is a 501 (c)(3) public charity whose mission is to provide companionship to senior individuals through pet ownership, while saving the lives of companion animals in shelters; animals which might otherwise be destroyed due to lack of appropriate homes, and space limitations.
The program began in 1992 with two shelters near Cleveland, Ohio. Since
then, PFE has seen great success and has grown to a nationwide program. PFE branched out nationally in 2002, and has helped successfully place over 100,000 companion animals with senior adopters.

Cycling Without Age

Cycling Without Age is a movement started in 2012 by Ole Kassow. Ole wanted to help the elders get back on their bicycles, but he had to find a solution to their limited mobility. The answer was a trishaw and he started offering free bike rides to the local nursing home residents.

Helping older adults stay socially engaged & better connected to their families...

Loved Ones Senior Planner was inspired by two beloved seniors. The first is a sweet, 94 year old who one year forgot her daughters birthday! She was devastated and upset for quite some time. Because I am passionate about seniors, I wanted to find a way to prevent this from happening to others. I had an idea to create a planner just for seniors. My dad helped to further that idea. He is blessed to have many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  But, his dementia makes it difficult to tell them apart and to know what is going on in their lives. Since he often reads his mail over & over again, I thought it would be nice if he could read and re-read a book about his family instead. So I created Loved Ones Senior Planner which highlights family events & gives seniors something to look forward to every day of the year.

This creation is dedicated to all the caregivers who give endlessly of their time to care for others.  I also want to thank the following: My mom, who taught me at a young age to be an entrepreneur. My step-mom, who cares tirelessly for my dad who has severe dementia. My sister, who has provided feedback for years as this product has evolved.  My kids, their families & my grandkids, who provide constant joy & motivation. My daughter Hope, who helped with video creation.  Branden, my computer guru whose expertise & on-going patience is invaluable. All my friends & family who provided encouragement & feedback & agreed to pose for sample templates.  Last but certainly not least, my husband who listened to ideas from sunrise to sunset every day while providing unending love & support!
