Welcome DIY Members!

You can begin personalizing your planner before it arrives!

Welcome! Your physical planner and accessories will arrive in the mail soon.

Meanwhile, we encourage you and your family to begin personalizing your pages. You can look at samples, gather photos and reach out to family members for input. Below are some resources to help you get started. (It is helpful to follow these instructions on your phone while you perform them on your computer).

Step #1: View Samples

See "Samples" book for ideas, inspiration and font information.

See "More Samples" for Young Girl Birthday, Young Boy Birthday & Heavenly Birthday templates.

Step #2: Gather Photos & Access Templates

Gather your own photos in a folder on your computer (so they are easily findable).

Login below with the username and password you created during checkout.

Scroll down & click "PDF Template Packet Download". Click "view files" & download "Template Subscription Pack.zip". Find the file in your downloads (top right). Right click the file & choose "Extract All". Its best to save these templates in a new folder on your desktop. (Right click to create "new/folder"). You will open these templates again in future steps.

Also available to download are two resources you can use when gathering information from your family. The first is a family email and the second is a Google form. Both come with instructions for use.

Step #3: Personalize Your Planner - PDF Editor

Inserting your own words and photos into our templates will require a PDF Editor.

LibreOffice Draw is a free commercial editor that we highly recommend.

It must be installed on a computer rather than a phone.

You can install it below. When done, open it using the icon on your desktop.

Step #4: The Fun Part - Adding Your Text and Images

Select “File/Open” and choose a template.

Editing text- highlight it and type over it.

Centering text-go to Align & select the centering image.

Choosing your own font-right click the textbox and select 'Character'. Select a font. Press OK.

Adding an image-find "insert image," select an image. Then size it by clicking and dragging the photo corners.

Saving- go to File/Export/Export As PDF. Printing is easier if you save all completed templates in one folder on the desktop.

You can edit additional templates by repeating this process.

Step #5: Finishing Up

Print your pages. A thumb-drive is included if you wish to print them at an office store.

Visual instructions are provided with the mushroom punch. We suggest practicing this process several times before punching your actual pages. Its easy once you’ve done it a few times.

Put your pages in date order. Insert them in the planner by pushing the tabs down over the discs.

You can easily update your book with new pages anytime a new event comes into the picture or when its time for new calendar pages.

Your beautiful, personalized planner is now complete! Simply place it in the re-usable gift box along with the greeting cards. Now comes the fun part. Present it to your loved one and watch their face light up!
